The Kratt Brothers are high-energy performers who have delighted audiences throughout North America with their live shows, tours, speeches and in-store appearances. Beloved by fans of every age, they are hard at work on a new tv show, and known throughout the world as the creators and stars of four hit television shows:

Kratt Brothers live events work well for a range of occasions, from very exclusive events to big public events for tens of thousands of people.  They have delivered keynote speeches to conferences and been paid spokespersons for some of the world’s most recognizable s brands.

The Kratts have headlined two sponsored national tours and headlined in-store events for major retail outlets. A Kratt Brothers event is always a special event, bringing families and communities together.   They offer two types of community events geared to families with children:

• Kratt Brothers Live with Animals

For events geared more towards adults, the Kratts offer speeches on the following topics:

• How doing what you love can lead to the best job in the world

• Animals can take you anywhere in Science

Speeches  may also be tailor written for specific events and organizations for an additional fee.

It’s the nickel capital of the world. And while Sudbury is not what I would call a pretty town, it is beautiful.  And that’s thanks to its people.

I traveled with the Kratt Brothers to Sudbury recently. It’s a city that has seen its fair share of challenges of late. The mine is facing its longest strike ever and the economy is down. But the people are not. The are up. In every way possible. And more than anything else, they are courteous.

I don’t know what I expected, but it wasn’t the ubiquitous politeness we encountered everywhere we went, and especially from the thousands of people who came out to see their favourite tv stars. To a person, every member of the public was thoughtful and considerate. And while they formed lines for the autograph session, instead of “I was here first,” I overheard phrases like, “I’m sorry, I think you were ahead of me.” “Oh, excuse me, I bumped into you.”

Sudbury, you knocked our socks off! To Stephen, Tricia, Celine and everyone else with the City of  Sudbury and to all of your families and amazing volunteers, thank you. You were great fun to work with. To Lisa and Scott (a concierge who could hold his own in New York) from the hotel, wow, you made our stay really special. And to the thousands of you who came out to see the Kratts’ show and ESPECIALLY to those of you who waited in line with such patience and such a sense of community, we are grateful to each and every one of you for making our stay in your beautiful town (and yes, I do mean beautiful) so memorable.

The Kratt Brothers, of course, are the creators and stars of three fabulously successful tv shows, the Emmy Award-winning Zoboomafoo, the Parents Choice Gold Award-winning Kratts’ Creatures and National Geographic Channel’s Be The Creature, which is broadcast in more than 150 countries around the world.

Saturday marked the 10th anniversary of the Kratt Brothers unofficial fan club. There are hundreds in the club and this weekend, a couple dozen of them jetted into Tennessee from all around the US and Canada.

They came to celebrate years of friendship and many happy hours watching Kratt Brothers TV shows and going to Kratt Brothers live events. Some have cris-crossed the country for years – Kratt Heads, if you will – hooking up with the Kratts and each other at various points across North America.    

I can tell you one thing: Kratt fans are some of the nicest people you’ll ever meet. And they care, about each other and the world.

 Some have grown up together. They have been part of the milestones of each others lives. Birthdays, anniversaries, divorces, engagements, and births – some have stood by each other through it all, connected by their love of animals and the Kratt Brothers.    

 Through magnet and Kratt Club calendar sales, they have raised more than $7000 to help the Kratt Brothers create a wildlife preserve for endangered and threatened North American animals.

With the help of kids and great sponsors like Old Navy and Dawn Dishwashing Liquid, the Kratts have raised more than $1 million to found Grizzly Gulch and only have about $40,000 to go. 

Some fan club members take the effort to help Grizzly Gulch very seriously. In fact, you might say that fan club organizer extraordinaire, Chris Frear, is a real “driving force” on that front….

As it is with everything Dollywood touches, the party was a fabulous affair and everyone had the time of their lives. We are grateful to everyone at Dollywood who made it so special, especially Pete Owens, Ashley Adams, Trish McGee.

Ed Begley Jr. and Bill Nye had some fun one-upping each other on who was more green. Daryl Hannah spoke beautifully and passionately about our responsibility to the planet and the animals with whom we share it and the Kratt Brothers delighted kids with their Amazon Adventure story and a family audience with how growing up in the wilds of New Jersey inspired them to be conservationists.
