A dynamic interactive 1-day course, Igniting Engagement:
Why Stories Matter
provides the theoretical
framework andp ractical application to integrate
narrative strategically to igniteengagement, to create
effective communications, meaningful consultations
and public engagement campaigns.

General description:

Stories are facts wrapped in emotions that provoke us to take
actions that can lead to profound change. With so much data
bombarding us every moment of every day how can we make
sense of it all in this time of information overload?  What does
all this information mean for us?  Where can we find
connections so necessary to become engaged in the process
of change?

workshop objectives:

The stories we tell literally change the world. Stories shape
our perceptions and experiences of reality and inform our
ideas of change. Stories act at a springboard to redefine the
boundaries of what we believe is possible. Stories create
the future.

Participants will:

  • Explore the theory and applications of strategic narrative
  • Engage in strategic narrative techniques that create
meaning and context that ignite engagement
  • Explore the strategic connection between narrative
    and action
  • Discover the application of strategic narrative techniques
in the process of igniting engagement

what are the benefits?

Participants will leave with strategic narrative practical tools
and frameworks to:

  • Ignite engagement in their organization’s vision,
    mandate and programs
  • To create effective communications, consultations
    and campaigns
  • Create a springboard for a positive process of change
