Why we give back – Driven to Sustain
We at Babble On Communications consider ourselves wildly privileged to work on the caliber of projects we do. We express our gratitude to the universe through the donation of a substantial amount of services to organizations we believe could use our help. We also lend a hand to emerging or struggling professionals who we think are worthy of mentoring.
Those selected to be mentored are asked for a nominal fee well below industry standard. That fee goes towards some of our expenses but generally does not cover them all. It is our gift towards a better world and the next generation of social and business entrepreneurs. Some have done great things with the gift we’ve given them.
Take Tyson Jerry and Cloe Whittaker.
Next week, Jerry and Whittaker will resume their “Driven to Sustain” campaign, a journey that has seen them travel thousands of kilometers across Canada in a van converted to run on waste vegetable oil they collected from restaurants along the way.
Jerry and Whittaker envision a cleaner, greener world and have literally taken to the streets to get their message across. We’ve helped them secure countless media interviews coast to coast where they have connected with millions of Canadians about their mission and their hope for the future.
They are great examples of why we feel called to give back as we do. We aren’t just investing in them. We are investing in a better world through them. They inspire and invigorate us with their optimism, their work ethic and even their gratitude.
In the coming days, they will resume their journey, which was sidelined by engine trouble (unrelated to the fuel they were using). They will venture into the US in their quest to break the world’s record and then return to visit the Canadian provinces they have yet to hit.
Whittaker and Jerry represent the best of our youth, willing to take responsibility for their own actions, willing to work hard, and grateful for the gifts they have been given.
We are so glad to have been along for the ride on Driven to Sustain. We are profoundly proud of Tyson and Cloe – and everything they have accomplished and are working towards.
